Located in the heart of the new Nine Elms District, our Heathwall site is part of a Thames Water Pumping Station in Battersea and is next door to our Kirtling Street site. Our teams here are working to intercept two sewer overflows which currently pollute into the river, as part of our work to clean up the Thames. Once we have finished, we will be leaving behind a new area of embankment giving a previously inaccessible vantage point across the river.

Reconnecting London with the River Thames

London relies on a 150-year-old sewer system built for a population less than half its current size. As a result, millions of tonnes of raw sewage spills, untreated, into the River Thames each year.

That’s where we come in.

We’re building a 25km Super Sewer under the Thames to intercept those nasty spills and clean up our river for the good of the city, its wildlife and you.
